Vehicle Tags and Registration
If you are new to the area, Charlestonians only have 45 days after establishing residency by either renting or purchasing a home in the Charleston Tri-County area to apply and obtain South Carolina License Tags
To purchase tags, you will need to fill out form 400 which is available at any DMV Office
Before getting your tags, you will need to pay property tax on the vehicle at your locat county tax office.
You should apply for your tags at the same location and county as your license.
